Junior Volunteer Opportunities

Inniswood Metro Gardens’ Junior Volunteer program provides volunteer opportunities to youth age 11-17. Junior Volunteers may help at Inniswood in two ways. Junior Education Volunteers assist with educational programs. Junior Garden Volunteers assist with maintaining the gardens at Inniswood. Junior Education Volunteers

Typical duties:

  • Assisting with program set-up
  • Greeting visitors
  • Answering questions
  • Distributing program supplies
  • Assisting visitors with crafts and activities
  • Assisting with program clean-up

Junior Garden Volunteers

Typical duties:

  • Planting garden beds with summer annuals, spring bulbs, or fall mums
  • Maintaining beds throughout growing season (ex. weeding, deadheading)
  • Assisting with facilities clean-up (ex. raking, sweeping)
  • Assisting with park projects
